Biography

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Central Missouri State University.  She is a Teacher by Profession, and a Ballroom Dance Teacher by Choice.

She has been Ballroom, Latin and Swing dancing in the Kansas City Metro Area for the last ten years. She began her dance training as a student of Arthur Murray Dance Studio and also trained under the supervision of a former US Professional American Style Rhythm Dance Champion for over four and a half years.

During the past several years Rebecca has experience dancing as an amateur competitor with her professional dance coach in the Heart of America DanceSport Championships Competition. She has been a Ballroom and Latin Amateur DanceSport Finalist as well as a finalist in the Muriel Kauffman Memorial Swing Dance Contest held at the Heart of America DanceSport Championships Competition.

She is constantly striving to improve her dancing and teaching skills by receiving on-going training.  In 2006, Rebecca attended and graduated with honors from the Beginners Only USA Training Course.  Specializing in the teaching of all aspects of Social, Ballroom and Latin Teachers Training Program held in Houston, Texas.  She also received training from top dance coaches and competitors in Kansas City, Dallas, Texas and Orlando, Florida.

Rebecca has also performed in numerous Showcases and Jack and Jill Swing Dance Contests over the years. She is well known in the Kansas City Dance Community. She enjoys dancing socially and has spent over a thousand hours on the dance floors of Kansas City practicing and perfecting her craft.

Rebecca has enormous respect and admiration for her excellent dance instructors.   She is motivated and inspired to share the gifts of knowledge, expertise, joy and the love of dancing that her dance instructors instilled in her.

She specializes in teaching beginning dance lessons to students of all ages. She teaches private dance instructions and works with Wedding Couples on their "first dance" in Overland Park, Kansas and Liberty, Missouri by appointment, Sunday-Friday.
